Like famous British explorer Captain James Cook's vessel, the Endeavour, Endeavour International has been on quite a journey. The company started life as a graphics company (Expression Graphics) in 2000, before changing its name and business direction in 2002, when (as Continental Southern Resources) it began to focus on oil and gas exploration in the US. In 2004 it acquired NSNV, which held a North Sea seismic database, and became Endeavour International. It then sold its US assets. The company is buying up stakes in mature North Sea fields that the majors are moving away from. In 2007 Endeavour International reported proved and probable reserves of 30 million barrels of oil equivalent.
