H. Bauer Publishing is reaping the rewards of its magazine holdings in the UK. The British firm is a unit of European publishing powerhouse Bauer Verlagsgruppe, German publisher of some 240 magazines in 15 countries. Its popular lifestyle, TV listing, and magazine holdings in the UK include women's titles "Bella", "Take a Break", and "That's Life!" TV publications include TV Quick and TV Choice. The company also produces puzzle publications, and several of its magazine concepts have made the leap to North America through sister firm Bauer Publishing USA. Bauer Verlagsruppe expanded greatly with the acquisition of Emap's radio and consumer magazine holdings in 2008, adding titles such as FHM and Heat to its portfolio.
