AIG Europe (UK) specializes in providing insurance for UK-based businesses. It provides coverage for more than half of the region's largest companies. It also offers non-life insurance for public sector organizations and small to midsized businesses, as well as personal health and non-life insurance for some 4 million individuals in the UK. It is a subsidiary of New York-based American International Group (AIG). In addition to London, the company has offices throughout the UK. As parent company AIG prepares to dismantle its holdings to repay its $85 billion loan from the US government, it is unclear if it will retain all or part of AIG Europe (UK).
