Marathon Oil UK has been developing North Sea oil fields at a steady pace for two decades. The company's core asset is in the Brae area where it holds a 42% stake in the South, Central, North and West Brae fields, and a 38% stake in the East Brae field. It also a 50% interest in the Scottish Area Gas Evacuation (SAGE) pipeline and processing system, a 27.8% interest in the Braemar Field near Aberdeen, and a minority stake in a Foinaven Field in the the Shetlands. Marathon Oil UK produces about 28,800 barrels of oil per day and about 125 million cu. ft. of gas per day. The company is a subsidiary of Marathon Oil Corporation.
