Marathon Oil UK has been developing North Sea oil fields at a steady pace for two decades. The company's core asset is in the Brae area where it holds a 42% stake in the South, Central, North and West Brae fields and a 38% stake in the East Brae field. It also a 50% interest in the Scottish Area Gas Evacuation (SAGE) pipeline and processing system and about a 30% interest in the Braemar Field near Aberdeen. Marathon Oil UK produces about 38,000 barrels of oil per day and about 207 million cu. ft. of gas per day. The company is a subsidiary of Marathon Oil Corporation.
