Burlington Resources UK finds oil where Jed, "the poor mountaineer just trying to keep his family fed" never did. The operating unit is one half of Burlington Resources' International Division, which has offices in London and Houston. The International Division explores for oil and gas outside of North America, in places such as China, Latin America, North Africa, and Northwest Europe. The division accounts for 16% of Burlington Resources' total production, and for 11% of its total reserves. In 2006 ConocoPhillips acquired Burlington for about $35 billion.
