Focusing its business on the eyes of the world, Altomed resells stainless steel and titanium instruments and single-use devices for opthalmic surgery, acting as a distributor for such companies as Labtician, Rhein Medical, and Volk Optical. Altomed also offers some repair services on instruments, diamond knives, and other products. The company sells products to optometrists and veterinary surgeons, as well. It has expanded its product line to include Microwash trays, used by hospitals to decontaminate instruments used in micro-surgery. Founded in 1976 by the parents of managing director Peter Myers, Altomed has customers both within the UK and internationally.
