Young drivers in hot hatches make up the favorite fleet of UK car insurer Admiral Group, which targets young people, drivers of performance cars, and city dwellers -- those who typically pay higher-than-average premiums. Admiral Group uses a direct-to-consumer business model, selling policies online under a number of brand names including its largest, Admiral (aimed at youngsters and urbanites); Bell (low-risk drivers); Diamond (young women); and Elephant (online only for bargain hunters). It also operates an online insurance broker called Confused.com (rastreator.com in Spain) and a commercial motor insurance broker called Gladiator. Admiral Group also operates in Germany, Italy, and Spain.
