BBI Holdings, more formally known as British Biocell International, puts gold to work diagnosing patients in doctors' offices and clinics. The company produces gold reagents (colloids and conjugates) which it uses to develop and manufacture "point of care" non-invasive diagnostic tests. Its BBI HealthCare business provides the diabetes management products GlucoGel and SensoCard blood glucose meters, along with other general wellness products sold through health food retailers. The company also provides contract manufacturing services producing assays. It is a subsidiary of diagnostics giant Inverness Medical Innovations.
