Avanti Capital wants to find the best deals before other investors do. The private equity investment firm holds stakes in such firms as Medcenter Inc. (a pharmaceutical industry communications player) and mBlox, which provides SMS (short messaging service) infrastructure services in Europe and in the US. Avanti Capital (formerly E-Capital Investments) owns 60% of Barvest, which operates the Po Na Na chain of clubs. Avanti reorganized management of Barvest in 2006 after it failed to sell the company.
