This company is hoping its bet on televised poker is about to pay off. WPT Enterprises produces the World Poker Tour TV series that airs on News Corporation's FOX Sports Net cable channels. The series spotlights players taking part in more than a dozen high-stakes poker tournaments hosted at casinos around the world. The tournaments are open to anyone able to pay the entry fee (between $10,000 and $25,000). WPT Enterprises also licenses the World Poker Tour brand for consumer products, sells branded merchandise, and operates an online gaming site. The company is selling its poker brands and most other assets to a unit of online poker operator PartyGaming.
