Kaman makes military helicopters, but it's the distribution of 3 million industrial items that makes the company fly. The company distributes bearings, power transmission, and motion control products through about 200 distribution centers in North America. Kaman aerospace segments include Aerostructures (which operates through subsidiary Kaman Aerospace Corporation), Precision Products, Specialty Bearings, and Helicopters, which makes the SH-2G maritime helicopter and the K-MAX aerial truck helicopter (designed for repetitive lifting). Customers for these segments include Airbus, Bell Helicopter, Boeing, Sikorsky, and BAE Systems.
