Iomega has cleared a new space for itself in the data storage market with a slash-and-burn strategy. The company provides rewritable CD and DVD drives, desktop and portable hard drives, and floppy disk drives for the consumer market. Iomega's business products include network attached storage (NAS) equipment, and its REV line of removable hard disk drives. It also provides online storage services for the consumer and professional markets through its iStorage subsidiary. Iomega was acquired by data storage systems and software leader EMC for $213 million in 2008.
