Contrary to its name, Lanesborough REIT doesn't invest in lanes and boroughs. Instead, the real estate investment trust invests primarily in residential, retail, industrial, and office properties across Canada. Its portfolio includes more than 30 multi-family residential projects, four commercial properties with about 225,000 sq. ft. of leasable space, and three senior housing complexes. Lanesborough's portfolio is valued at some $350 million. In 2009 the REIT agreed to sell seven apartment properties for some $27 million; it has placed other assets up for sale. Lanesborough REIT was established in 2002.
