While its name may not be snazzy enough to be the assumed monikor of the latest DJ or rapper, Ableton is nonetheless just as cool. Ableton is a software developer that specializing in audio products for musicians. Products include Live, a real-time music production application, and Operator, a synthesizer instrument used with Live. Artists who have used Ableton's products include techno musician Richard Devine, Scottish rock band Mogwai, and producers Dust Brothers (Live was used to produce Beck's Guero). Many of the company's employees are musicians or DJs. Ableton was founded in 1999.
