IranAir lands quite a few flights in the Land of Nobles. IranAir serves more than 60 destinations primarily in the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. The airline also provides a variety of air-related services, including catering for other airlines, cargo transport, and Hadj charter flights. Operating a fleet of about 35 Fokker, Boeing, and Airbus planes, IranAir plans to expand by leasing 10 more planes. US economic sanctions have prevented the company from purchasing new planes. The airline traces its roots to the founding of Iranian Airlines in 1944 and the founding of Pars Airways in 1954. These airlines merged in 1961 to form IranAir.
