This Clyde keeps Washington's power brokers fed and happy. Clyde, Inc., which does business as Clyde's Restaurant Group, operates more than 15 upscale dining establishments in and around the nation's capital, including its small chain of Clyde's locations. It also owns the historic Old Ebbitt Grill and its lunch-oriented offshoot, Ebbitt Express, as well as the posh 1789 Restaurant. In addition to dining, the company offers catering services through many of its restaurants. The late Stuart Davidson started Clyde's in 1963; president John Laytham became a partner in the business in 1968.
