An operating unit of financial services software company SunGard Data Systems, SunGard Energy Systems provides software that helps energy companies in North America and Europe trade and market energy, process transactions, and manage risk, physical operations (transportation, storage, generation), and financial functions. The unit took its present form in 2003, when SunGard acquired energy trading software maker Caminus. SunGard Energy Systems' customer roster includes British Energy, Exelon, and the energy services operations of Louis Dreyfus.
