Its portfolio includes Muzak, Atlantic Broadband, Charleston Newspapers, Country Road Communications, and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Operations include leveraged buyouts, expansions, acquisitions, and recapitalizations. The company usually invests $20 million to $150 million in equity transactions, or $15 million to $50 million in mezzanine capital. The company has about $3 billion in capital under management. ABRY Partners was founded in 1989 by chairman Andrew Banks and president Royce Yudkoff.
