Even if you've got an old ranch, Nufarm would like to help you kill some weeds in the name of protecting your crops. Nufarm manufactures herbicides and pesticides and controls the marketing rights to Monsanto's Roundup brand of herbicides for Australia and New Zealand. The company is also developing a seeds business. While the Asia/Pacific region is the company's biggest, accounting for a third of its business, Nufarm operates worldwide and continues to expand internationally. Since 2007 the company has made significant acquisitions in Brazil, the UK, and the US. And in 2009 Sinochem and Nufarm reached a non-binding agreement for the Chinese giant to buy Nufarm for about A$2.8 billion ($2.5 billion US).
