Network Security Technologies (NetSec) provides computer network security services to corporations and government organizations. Customers have included Enterasys Networks and Reuters Group. The company was founded in 1998 and has offices in the UK and the US. MCI acquired NetSec for around $105 million in cash in February 2005. MCI, a telecommunications pioneer formerly known as WorldCom, which emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2004, has itself been acquired by Verizon Communications, a Baby Bell company. Following the MCI acquisition, the company called itself MCI NetSec Global Security Services, and now goes by Verizon Security Solutions.
