Even when you're #1, you've got to work to stay on top. The Air War College helps maintain the US as the leading military air power in the world, educating officers to lead at the strategic level in the employment of air and space forces. The college is the senior school of the US Air Force's Air University, principally located at Maxwell Air Force Base and nearby Gunter Annex in Alabama. Other Air University institutions include Air Command and Staff College, Squadron Officer College, and School for Advanced Air and Space Studies. Air War College has up to 270 resident and more than 6,000 non-resident students from all branches of the US armed forces, as well as military personnel from other countries.
