Adams State College (ASC) hasn't quite been around since the beginning of time, but it has seen the eve of a few decades. The school confers bachelor's degrees in 16 majors, with 28 minors and emphases. It also offers six master's degree programs, as well as associate degree and pre-professional programs. The college provides online learning programs for non-traditional students as well. It draws some 2,500 students annually to its San Luis Valley, Colorado, campus, in addition to more than 10,000 extended study students. The college was founded in 1921 as a teachers' college by Billy Adams, a Colorado legislator who would later become the state's governor.
