Lescarden lessens scarring when it can. The company develops clinical dermatological, osteoarthritis, and wound care products. Lescarden focuses on developing natural therapies. Many of its products utilize bovine cartilage, which is said to possess beneficial healing qualities. Its lead product, the bovine-based and FDA-approved Catrix, is sold as a dressing for non-healing wounds such as diabetic ulcers. Lescarden also markets a line of Catrix-based skin care products targeting the plastic surgery, dermatology, and medical spa markets. Other products include Poly-Nag, an anti-arthritic compound made from chitin, a material found in the shells of invertebrates, and BIO-CARTILAGE, a nutritional supplement.
