BetaTHERM manufactures thermistors, a type of electrical resistor, and temperature probe assemblies. The company serves customers in the automotive, biotech, communications, consumer, HVAC and refrigeration, instrumentation, and medical fields. BetaTHERM was established in 1983. The company has manufacturing facilities and offices in Barbados, China, Ireland, and the US. BetaTHERM went through a management buyout in 1998, with the assistance of Hibernia Capital Partners. In 2006 Measurement Specialties acquired BetaTHERM for $38 million in cash and stock; the company was then combined with YSI Temperature.
