It doesn't hurt to name an entertainment firm after a few lucky numbers. 2929 Entertainment is owned by business partners Mark Cuban (owner of the Dallas Mavericks) and Todd Wagner, who struck gold when they sold their Broadcast.com business to Yahoo! for more than $5 billion at the height of the dot-com boom. (2929 Entertainment is named after Broadcast.com's address at 2929 Elm St.) The company has ownership stakes in movie distribution firms (Magnolia Pictures), high definition television networks (HDNet and HDNet Movies); and movie exhibition (Landmark Theatres). 2929 Entertainment also partners with movie studios such as Warner Bros. to release various film and TV projects.
