Exxon Mobil subsidiary Esso Petroleum refines, distributes, and markets petroleum products in the UK. The company's Fawley refinery near Southampton is the largest in the country. It processes 300,000 barrels of crude oil a day and supplies 14% of all oil products in the UK. Esso Petroleum also operates the UK's biggest privately-owned underground oil pipeline distribution network. The company serves approximately 1 million customers every day through about 900 gas stations. It also operates 30 motorway forecourts (gas stations and convenience stores).
