Steel crazy after all these years, Pittsburgh-based United States Steel is the nation's #2 integrated steelmaker (behind ArcelorMittal). The company operates mills throughout the Midwest in the US; in Ontario, Canada; and in Serbia and Slovakia. U.S. Steel makes sheet and semifinished steel, tubular and plate steel, and tin products; its annual production capacity is more than 32 million tons of raw steel (though its actual production rate is less than that).
