CalAmp adds a little boost even to the weakest of TV programs. The former military supplier makes microwave amplification and conversion components that improve reception in satellite television, wireless cable, and wireless broadband access systems. Its products include antennas, amplifiers, and transceivers and receivers for broadband wireless transmission. CalAmp made the MultiCipher cable signal-scrambling system that prevents unauthorized viewing of cable programming. The company's leading customers include DIRECTV (about 10% of sales) and DISH Network (nearly 16%). Most of CalAmp's sales are in the US.
