Atrion is only a little bit gassy. The company owns a 22-mile pipeline that transports gaseous oxygen in Alabama, but its primary focus is on the health care market. Subsidiary Quest Medical makes cardiovascular and intravenous fluid delivery products; its MPS2 Myocardial Protection System manages fluid delivery to the heart during open-heart surgery. Another subsidiary, Halkey-Roberts, makes medical tubing clamps and fluid and gas valves for health care equipment, marine and airplane safety devices, toys, and other inflatable products. Its Atrion Medical Products subsidiary makes ophthalmic, diagnostic, and cardiovascular equipment, including balloon catheter inflation devices and needle storage kits.
