BJ Services keeps the pressure on oil production. Along with Halliburton and Schlumberger, the company is one of the top providers of pressure-pumping services used to protect the oil formation. BJ Services stimulates production through acidizing, cementing, coiled tubing, fracturing, and sand control. Its oilfield services include casing and tubular services, process and pipeline services, production chemicals, completion tools, and completion fluids services. The company operates onshore and offshore in most of the world's major oil and gas producing regions. In a major industry consolidation, in 2009 oil field services giant Baker Hughes agreed to acquire BJ Services for $5.5 billion.
