Cherry Lane Music Publishing Company is a leading independent music publishing business, controlling the rights to a catalog of musical compositions, including songs by The Black Eyed Peas, John Denver, and Elvis Presley. It licenses the rights to those songs for use in TV, film, and advertising, and for inclusion on compilation or re-issue CDs. Through affiliated companies, the Cherry Lane Music Group produces sheet music and publishes Music Alive!, a magazine aimed at music teachers. The company was founded by music producer Milton Okun in 1960.
