First Trenton Indemnity just wasn't catchy enough a name, so the company was renamed Travelers of New Jersey. One of the largest personal lines independent agencies in New Jersey and a subsidiary of The Travelers Companies, the firm services 380,000-plus auto, home, renter's, condo, personal articles, and umbrella coverage policies. Identity theft protection can be added for $25 per year. The company also offers wedding insurance, paying off on everything from the bride's dress or groom's tuxedo being lost or damaged to cancellation due to sudden illness, severe weather, or the groom getting called to duty. Through its parent company, Travelers of New Jersey is able to offer flood and boat/yacht policies.
