BioMS Medical hopes to create biological therapies for MS (multiple sclerosis) and other health conditions. The biomedical firm develops protein-based biotech drugs with the goal of bringing them to market. Its primary technology candidate is dirucotide, an injectable protein therapy targeting multiple sclerosis. BioMS had been working on dirucotide with Eli Lilly, but that partnership was terminated in 2009 due to disappointing trial results. The company has also conducted research on other immune system ailments and cancers.
