Indiana Farmers Mutual underwrites personal auto, homeowners, farmowners, and commercial insurance for customers in (and only in) Indiana. It provides coverage to some 80,000 policyholders. The company, which has nearly doubled its premiums written since the mid-1990s, sells its products exclusively through 1,200 independent agents throughout the state. Indiana Farmers Mutual traces its roots back to 1877 when a group of farmers banded together for protection against fire loss.
