Annoying e-mail attachments and file transfers wasting your time? Accellion definitely feels your pain (and hopes to cure it). The company makes software that removes the attachment and files from the e-mail message and places it on a server. The recipient then visits the server via a Web link and retrieves the attachment. The company also offers a backup and recovery application and tools for securing the transfer of documents from printers, scanners, and copiers, as well as a variety of professional services such as consulting, training, maintenance, installation, and support. Baring Private Equity Partners Asia and The Tinshed Angels are investors in the company.
