Pacific Fuel Cell owns a license for a proprietary fuel cell technology that uses a carbon nanotube base -- rather than platinum -- as a catalyst. The company is developing its technology for use in low-cost fuel cells for small electronic device applications. Pacific Fuel Cell has also acquired the rights to a methanol-resistant cathodic catalyst for direct methanol fuel cells. The company is cooperating in fuel-cell research at the University of California, Riverside. Manufacturing of Pacific Fuel Cell's products is contracted out to Bourns.
