Its guidebooks include the Moon Handbooks, Road Trip USA, Rick Steves, and The Dog Lover's Companion series. Specific titles include Rick Steves' Europe Through the Back Door 2010 and The Dog Lover's Companion to Seattle. Titles independent from its popular series include The Practical Nomad and Queens in the Kingdom. The company was formed in 1999 with the merger of three independent travel publishers -- Moon Publications (established in 1973), John Muir Publications (established in 1973), and Foghorn Press (established in 1982).
