Mining company Thunder Mountain Gold is looking for its next project. In 2005 the company sold its real property and mining claims in the Thunder Mountain District of Valley County, Idaho, to the Trust For Public Land, an environmental group that buys land for conservation. No minerals had been produced on Thunder Mountain Gold's Idaho properties since the early 1990s. Currently the company operates no producing mines and owns no mining properties; it is firmly in the exploration stage. In 2007 Thunder Mountain Gold acquired South Mountain Mines. Two years later it agreed to buy Kenai Resources, combining to form a new company called Thunder Mountain Resources.
