Atkins pushed beef off its plate in favor of a protein shake. Atkins Nutritionals, which once touted the meat-heavy Atkins diet, makes nutritional bars and shakes. The number of products is down from the more than 300 items the company offered at the height of the low-carbohydrate diet craze. Atkins no longer offers low-carb dieting advice but instead focuses on "nutrition" on its Web site. The company's Atkins Advantage food products are sold nationwide. They can be found at some 30,000 retail outlets worldwide, including Wal-Mart, Target, CVS, and Walgreens, as well as in many grocery stores and chains.
