First Century Bankshares is the holding company for First Century Bank, which serves southern West Virginia and southwestern Virginia from about a dozen branch locations. The bank provides traditional deposit services such as checking accounts, statement savings, money market accounts, CDs, and IRAs. It uses funds from deposits to write commercial and consumer loans, primarily real estate mortgages, which account for some 70% of the company's loan book. First Century Bank also offers real estate construction and development loans, agricultural loans, and check cards. Bank subsidiary First Century Financial Services provides trust, investment, and financial planning services.
