Alacris provides identity management software used to track and manage digital certificates and smart cards. The company's idNexus software manages enrollment, recover, revocation, key history management, and other functions for software-based digital certificates and smart cards. Its Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) lets organizations determine the status and validity of digital certificates. Alacris also offers project management, technology consulting, on-site support, systems design and installation, and migration planning services. Microsoft acquired Alacris in 2005 for an undisclosed amount.
