World Minerals digs up one kind of dirt, which it uses to help you keep out all the other dirt you don't want. The company mines and produces industrial minerals, including diatomite and perlite, through subsidiaries Celite Corporation (diatomaceous earth products) and Harborlite Corporation (perlite products). Diatomite is primarily sold to customers for use in filtering and as a filler in paints. Perlite is a volcanic rock also used in filtering. The company has been a subsidiary of Imerys, a French industrial minerals and pigments company, since 2005.
