Omega Engineering wants to be the last word in instruments. The company manufactures products used to measure and control temperature, humidity, flow, level, pH, and pressure. The company's some 100,000 products include thermocouples, transducers, pressure gauges, switches, and air velocity measurement systems. Omega also makes data loggers and recorders, as well as electric heaters. Omega counts such companies as Celgene and 3M, as well as universities and other institutions, among its customers. In 2011 process instrumentation and controls company Spectris plc acquired Omega for $475 million.
