African Minerals just wants to get a hold of a certain precious gem. It is a diamond exploration company which has been exploring property in Sierra Leone since 1996. Besides diamonds, the company also has rights to precious and base metals on its properties. None of its properties are currently in production. With the country emerging from years of civil unrest, African Minerals hopes to tap its undeveloped mineral resources. Timis Diamond Corporation controls the company. In 2007 it changed its name from Sierra Leone Diamond Company.
