Audiences have big love for this studio. HBO Films is the production unit of the pay TV network Home Box Office (HBO), producer of the TV show Big Love. Other recent productions from HBO Films include the televised feature Grey Gardens, the TV miniseries John Adams, and the TV show Curb Your Enthusiasm. HBO Films began as a producer of movies solely for its cable channel. It later distributed movies such as Kit Kittredge: An American Girl to theaters through Picturehouse (a joint venture with New Line), but the company exited the feature films business when that unit folded in 2008.
