Standing ovations are welcomed but not required at these restaurants. BRAVO! Development operates more than 50 upscale casual-dining spots specializing in Italian cooking that are located in about 20 states. Its flagship chain, Bravo! Cucina Italiana, offers a wide variety of Italian dishes, including pasta, pizza, and several Tuscan-style specialties, which are prepared in exhibition kitchens. Its other concepts include Brio Tuscan Grille, Lindey's (American cuisine), and Bon Vie Bistro (French). Private equity firms Bruckmann, Rosser, Sherrill and Castle Harlan together own 80% of BRAVO! Development; founders and brothers Chris and Rick Doody, who opened their first restaurant in 1992, own the remaining 20%.
