Five Rivers Electronic Innovations is an electronics maker and operating unit of contract manufacturer Taylor-White. The company assembles televisions (direct-view, digital, high-definition), circuit boards, and television armoires and cabinets. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in late 2004 after it shut down a facility in Tennessee (which has since reopened) and stopped producing LCoS (liquid crystal on silicon) TVs. Five Rivers previously made the TVs for Philips Electronics, but discontinued its manufacturing operations after Philips announced plans to stop selling TVs that use the LCoS technology. As part of its reorganization plan, the company will stop manufacturing TVs.
