The Osmond Foundation for the Children of the World, better known as the Children's Miracle Network, raises funds for more than 170 children's hospitals in the US and Canada. Network hospitals treat about 17 million children each year for everything from broken bones to AIDS. The not-for-profit organization raises money through a variety of methods including radio and television fund drives, corporate sponsorships, the sale of paper Miracle Balloons, and college dance marathons. It's assisted by 90 organizations and some 400 media partners. Singer and entertainer Marie Osmond founded the network in 1983 along with actor John Schneider (Dukes of Hazzard).
