Like a good host or hostess, Schieffelin & Co. (formerly Schieffelin & Somerset) keeps the drinks flowing. The company imports wines and spirits into the US through regional centers in California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Texas. Schieffelin, owned by Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, began business in 1794 as a wholesale drug distributor and is among the five oldest, continuously operating companies in the US. In 2005 Schieffelin was combined with Clicquot, Inc., and Millennium Import LLC United to create a single sales and marketing operation, Moët Hennessy USA.
