Founded in 1902 by Henry C. Turner, the company is the main operating unit of The Turner Corporation, which is a subsidiary of German construction group HOCHTIEF. Tompkins Builders, a subsidiary of Turner Construction, helped build the WWII Memorial in Washington, DC.
